At the height of its decadent reign, the empire of Negramstia faces imminent collapse under siege from the combined forces of the Holy Alliance, leaving Queen Radomira on the brink of losing her throne.

Standing as the empire’s sole line of defense is Direc Rond, the ruthless captain of the Black Dogs mercenary army, who successfully repels the invading forces with brute strength.

Behind his defense lies a treasonous scheme, as Direc views both the captured enemy knights and the sovereign herself merely as rewards to be claimed in his plot to usurp the supreme power.
